Well, Anamaria and I headed to the Berry Half Marathon and after a few hours of monsoon rain, thunder, lightening and pushing the start time of the race back several times, the race organizers finally cancelled it. Maybe we'll have better luck next year but I always remember this weekend has a rainout of something every year. Usually it is my nephews outdoor birthday parties that get rained out.
Today I also completed registration for the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon. It should be quite a challenge but I'm ready for it. I'll be developing my training plan very soon and hopefully trying to fit in a sprint distance triathlon before. This will definitely mean it will be a long, hot summer!

Just a mom of three boys trying to get away from it all with some running shoes and an iPod!

Getting started
Today is the first day of the blog and one week and one day away from the Berry Half Marathon. I think that this will be the benchmark race going forward for a couple of reasons. Baby Kyle is almost 6 months old and while he's an adorable little man, I'm thinking he'll be the last person that I make! So from here on out, I should have little excuse for not running. The other reason will be that I haven't really done a lot of training for this race. That adorable little man isn't the best at sleeping and we have had a super sick winter
